HOME GARDENING, FRESH HARVEST: Karong panahon sa COVID-19 pandemic, every time muoli ko sa amua, akong nabantayan nga almost every household sa among dapit duna nay garden where people grow different kinds of vegetables. It’s just good to see that most people not just stay at home to lower the chances of the virus spreading, home gardening also become a habit and a rising trend sa among komunidad.

It’s a wise thing that people in my community now have more time and energy to focus on growing their own food that also keep them distracted from the negativity of the current situation.

Isa pd sa nakakuha sa akong atensyon ang group of youth sa among lugar (see photos below) nga nagpahigayon sa ilang first harvest last weekend. Amazing! It simply helps them to make use of their time while waiting for the opening of classes and also a way for them to help their family. As we all know anxiety over the food supply chain has been a thing pagsugod sa pandemic. Busa good job jud!

Matud pa sa National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), isa sa paagi sa Northern Mindanao to reboot the economy is the recovery plan that recommends enhanced agricultural production to ensure food security in the region.

True enough, with the help and support of the government, agriculture will play a vital role in our economy and a mini-gardening at home just makes people become more self-reliant and gain more control over their food source. Along with a positive attitude, I believe a garden will surely give more than just stability in these trying times.
